Forgotten Favorite of the Day: When in Rome, "The Promise"

This song gained popularity right around the time I experience my first real teenage crush.  As a result, the song reminds me of Mindy. I never did fulfill said promise, but never mind.  I still love the song!!

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Celebrate the Nun, "Ordinary Town"

I one time, I owned the Celebrate the Nun cassette. I used it and abused it and wore it out, as it was one of my favorites at the time. Years later, I bought the album on CD. I'm not sure what happened to it. I miss it. This post will have to do.

This favorite and more are found on my blog.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Sparks & Jane Weidlin, "Cool Places"

Oops, it's Jane Weidlin again. But this song is all about Sparks. They have put out a number of quirky little songs over the years, but this one is probably their most mainstream and well-known. And I can't get over the quality of the dance moves exhibited in the video!!

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Freur, "Doot Doot"

Freur remains one of my all-time favorites. This song reminds of steamy nights at the dance club way back when they used to play the occasional slow song to give us all a chance to cuddle. You shall likely see more Freur posts in the future.

Here this and more at the aforementioned blog.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Big Pig, "I Can't Break Away"

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is a classic. This is song found its way off the soundtrack onto radio stations. This brings back so many memories of goofy teenage antics.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: The Nails, "88 Lines about 44 Women"

This song is exactly what it says it is. Nice beat, nice tune. What's not to like about this song. If you like beautiful women, this video is for you.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Q-Feel, "Dancing in Heaven"

I love the song, but it could be the most ridiculous video I have ever seen. Slow, Slow, Quick Quick Slow. You know you love this song from the movie "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Heart, "Allies"

This is the first song I ever recognized by Heart. For some reason, you never hear it. I love the big booming drums in this song. The tune doesn't age.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Thompson Twins, "If You Were Here"

This could be my favorite Thompson Twins song, which is saying a lot considering the portfolio of great tunes this band holds. It's certainly the song I'd play if I wanted to get cuddly with my woman.

So I guess there isn't really a video for the song, but you can certainly enjoy the still from Pretty in Pink while you listed to the tune.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Alphaville, "Romeos"

This song is the pinnacle of Alphaville's post-Forever Young career. Certainly not the same kind of sentimentality in this song, but certainly worth listening to. Get your groove on.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Basement Jaxx, "Where's Your Head At"

Love the song. Love the video even more. I wish there were more monkeys in the music industry. This song makes me want to boogie!! It also reminds me of a strange recurring dream that I have.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Sheakespeare's Sister, "Stay"

It's a haunting melody. And one of the rare cases that the video lives up to the song. I don't know why Shakespeare's Sister didn't last, but I wish they would 'Stay.'

I have more favorites for your perusal. Check it out.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Figures on a Beach, "No Stars"

Sorry for the duplicate posting to my Facebook friends, but I had to include this song in the blog since it was one of the primary reasons for creating the blog. Like so many videos of this time, the choreography is brilliant. Love the song!!

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Bon Jovi, "Dead or Alive"

Yeah, I know...it's not really very forgotten, but I love hearing the song again. One of my favorite guitar solos of all time. "I've seen a million faces, and I've rocked them all!!" Indeed.

Forgotten Favorite of the Day: Underworld, "Underneath the Radar"

They were cool back in the day when they were Freur. They are cool today as the trance/electronica artists that they are. And they were cool in the 80's with this song and video.
